Please observe the TwinFire grate. When this glows red then it is time to turn on the second fire. Another indication of sufficiently hot combustion is clean vermiculite linings in the upper combustion chamber. You can observe whether the vermiculite lining in the upper combustion chamber has “burned free”, i.e. whether the dark spots that settle on the vermiculite when it is heated have disappeared. The layer of embers must also be sufficiently thick so that the bottom of the upper combustion chamber is covered at least 2 cm thick.
You must always be aware that you have to create a zone in the oven in which a constant temperature of up to 1200°C prevails. This can only be achieved after heating for at least half an hour. Give the stove and especially the chimney this time to warm up the entire system sufficiently. At very low temperatures it may happen that you have to heat up for up to 50 minutes to bring the cooled chimney back up to temperature.
If the chimney is installed above the stove, only the connecting piece up to the next floor may be placed on the stove. With a room height of 2.5 m and an oven approx. 1.2 m high, this is 1.3 m. With an internal diameter of 150 mm and a wall thickness of 2 mm and steel as the material, this results in a weight of approx. 9.8 kg additional weight on the oven. The entire weight of the chimney must be absorbed by the floor above. Our ovens are not designed to accommodate additional loads.
Otherwise, please always consult your local chimney sweep.
Unfortunately, we cannot give you any information on how to clean the smoke pipe. Please either contact your chimney sweep or ask the specialist company that installed the stove.
We can only provide you with advice on cleaning the xeoos ovens. Please note that cleaning must only be carried out when the oven has completely cooled down (not heated for at least 40 hours) and that the removal of the vermiculite must be carried out very carefully as the vermiculite lining can easily break.
The ash pan must be emptied every 5-7 burning days. Once after the firing season, the lower combustion chamber and the raised floor should be cleaned (vacuumed).
In connection with a living room ventilation system, the xeoos fireplace stoves can only be operated in conjunction with a differential pressure switch. Operating situations may arise when operating the living room ventilation system that we cannot cover with a blanket certificate. We generally recommend a safety circuit to limit negative pressure and an external combustion air supply. Approval for air-independent operation is then not required. Be sure to ask the district chimney sweep responsible for your area about this topic.
Our fireplace stoves are approved for logs as well as charcoal and lignite briquettes. However, not for hard coal (it gets too hot, as our stoves already develop a very high heat) and also not for pellets (they would fall through the grate).
We produce around 1,000 xeoos fireplace stoves every year in our factory in Reddighausen. This is distributed across 12 models with up to 30 equipment variants per model. Due to the variety of models described, we only produce to order and speak of a manufactory and not an industrial production. We offer you a fascinating and unique product that is always individually manufactured. This has its price and you have to be willing to treat yourself to it.
